i wrote this for the sectionz.com 5k song competition. the challenge consisted of trying to create a track using only 9 ultra-crappy samples that totalled 5 kilobytes in size. to give you an idea, most emails you write are probably bigger than the samples i used to write this song.
this is probably one of my all-time favorite tracks of mine. i wrote it right after i released “peace love unity + revenge” and i never did anything with it after that. enjoy this loverly nuskool break-y chill dnb-y thing.
’snow balm’ was to be my opus; my first single to be released on a new label based out of the UK called “do:loop”. alas, the plans for the label were scrapped, and with it, the single. this was to be the ‘a’ side mix, contributed by henri hurtig aka cid inc (who under ‘mashtronic’ is now on bedrock?! crazy.)
all nes, with effects. the glitches are caused by the fact that i was burning a cd while i was recording the mp3… i think it works!
this song is *still* all nintendo. i wired up separate outputs on my nes, so now i can do more effects.
